DESCRIPTION

Setting

Mid block on the north side of Maclean Street. Driveway on the east (Right) side.

Description

Two story vinyl clad gabled house with the ridge parallel to the street. The three bay second story has three one over one replacement windows with vinyl shutters over a full width hip roof front porch. The two bay porch has square wood posts. The door is on the left side of the three bay first floor. The east elevation has a gable end attic window above three unequally spaced units. The middle one is smaller and slightly offset forward. There is a small flat roof side entrance porch at the rear next to a small window and a typical size unit at the front corner. The west facade has a symmetrical arrangement of four windows (2 each level) beneath a similar unit in the gable end. There is a square stucco chimney in the center of the ridge. There is a one story gabled extension off the rear.

History

The house was constructed c. 1880. Historic maps show a vacant lot in this location as late as the historic map of 1875. The house first appears on the historic map of 1890 and all subsequent maps and atlases.
