DESCRIPTION

Setting

This property is located on the north side of Leigh Avenue near the center of the block between the intersections with Race Street and Bayard Lane. Leigh Avenue is a residential street with a tree-lined sidewalk on each side. A minimal front lawn is located in the space between the sidewalk and the house. A concrete walk leads from the front door of the house to the sidewalk, and a property drive along the west property boundary provides off- street parking.

Description

The house is a 2-story modern vernacular building facing south to Leigh Avenue. Its end-gabled roof is clad with asphalt shingles. The frame walls are clad with vinyl on the second floor and brick on the first. Windows are multi-light double hung sash units, and those on the main (south) elevation feature inoperable shutters. The main entrance on the south elevation consists of a paneled door (possibly original to the building) flanked by floor to ceiling sidelights. The house has a concrete foundation.
